Frequently Asked Questions
How does it work?
For our value 7-day service, everything is built into a run. That means we'll arrange to collect your bike when we're in a similar area for another customer. The same goes for delivery. So, for this service, you can't specify a day or time, but we will try to accommodate customers whenever possible. We do however, give at least 2 days notice before calling.
What if I need a bike collected and delivered on a specific day?
No problem. For this, we offer a dedicated service. This service is our most popular and consequently is subject to availability and is priced accordingly to the mileage and dates required.
How long will I have to wait for my bike?
If you have opted for our value service, it will be done within 7 working days providing that we are able to collect and deliver within reasonable times (i.e. normal working hours Mon-Fri). We usually give 2 days notice before calling. The only exception is Northern Ireland and the Scottish Highlands: this can occasionally take longer and we will discuss this with you at the time of booking.
Will my bike be collected and delivered on the same day?
Not necessarily unless specifically requested and agreed. Sometimes the bike will be taken to a secure insured unit, generally a Motorcycle dealership, then later collected and delivered by another one of our drivers.
Who will be collecting and delivering my bike?
Here at Bluehawk we only use our own vans and employed drivers who also hold a full UK motorcycle licence and ride themselves. We do not sub-contract our work to other firms. We have drivers who have a passion for bikes and biking.
Could you also bring along some spares with the bike?
Yes. We don't charge any extra for a few small items, but if you want us to collect a spare frame, engine, seat, tank, forks or wheels for your bike this would be classed as an additional bike and charged accordingly. If in doubt, please ask! We will happily transport leathers, helmets, covers, etc. but we won't carry any household items.
How much will my bike cost to move?
Our prices start from as low as £82.50 + VAT for short collection and deliveries local to the Basingstoke area. However, for a specific quotation please visit the quotation tab on this web-site or call on 07833 213924.
If your bike is in Scotland , Northern Ireland or any island areas please also phone or email for a quote.
If you require a larger bike such as a Harley Davidson Glide or CVO, Honda Goldwing etc, again please contact us for a specific price.
Why would my quad or trike cost more?
Quads and trikes take up the space of 2 average size bikes, so we usually charge double for them. But, please confirm the dimensions before asking for a price.
What about sidecars?
We can carry smaller outfits, depending on the size, but larger ones will not fit onto our ramps and vans. We can carry sidecars on their own; please contact us, with the dimensions for a price.
How do I pay?
Bluehawk accept payments via bank transfer when we take your booking. We can also accept payment upon delivery or collection of cash with prior agreement. In these cases please note, no payment – no delivery. Regular trade customers can pay via bank transfer within 7 days of receipt of the e-mailed invoice.
Do you inspect the bike to see if it's OK?
No. You would need to employ the services of a reputable motorcycle engineer to inspect your bike. However, we are able to check that the bike is as you described it to you (eg a Blue Suzuki GSXR with Termi Exhaust) and check that the registration number matches the V5 document (if available to us). If you require the driver to call you when they have collected your bike to discuss the condition etc, please let us know beforehand. Please also note that should you decide to reject the bike on the basis of our description, you will still be charged for our services.
Do I need to be there when you collect or deliver the bike?
Ideally yes, although we would be happy to deal with a named and appointed representative. Please note, we will not deliver a bike without being able to receive a signature of acceptance on the condition report, and would therefore not leave a bike unattended. We will also take photos for your peace of mind.
Can you provide a breakdown recovery service?
This is not our usual business but we may be able to provide assistance providing you are within a 50 mile (distance on Google Maps) radius of Basingstoke and of course is subject to being available at the time. Please keep our number to hand and call if you need us.
Do you provide delivery services for other items?
We can provide collection and delivery services for other items, however this will never be combined with a Motorcycle delivery. The safety of our customer’s motorcycles is of paramount importance to us, so additional services will only be undertaken with an empty van. Prices are available on request and again subject to availability.
